Kapucijners (Marrowfat Peas) with Bacon

Looking for a quick, delicious protein punch? Try this quick recipe for cooked kapucijners (marrowfat peas in English) with some bacon because bacon makes everythign better.
Add:
- 5 medium onions
- 1 tbsp oil
- 250g cubed bacon
- 800g canned kapucijners
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 4 sweet/sour pickles
- 4 tbsp apple syrup
Directions:
- Slice the onions into rings.
- Heat the oil in a pan and cook the bacon about 4 minutes until ready.
- Add the onion rings and cook for a further 5 minutes.
- Drain the kapucijners and rinse under cold water. Allow to drain for a few minutes.
- Add to the bacon and onion mixture and heat through.
- Add the mustard, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Slice the pickles into small pieces and sprinkle on top, or serve on the side.
- Serve with apple syrup.
