Kip Kerrie (Chicken Curry)

The Dutch imported spices from all around the world and integrated it into their own cooking. This is a simple recipe for a homestyle Chicken Curry.

Ingredients

4 | Large Skinless Chicken Legs |
For the Sauce | |
1 | Large Onion |
3 | Cloves of Garlic |
5cm | Fresh Ginger, or 2 Tsp Ground Ginger |
1 Tbs | Butter |
3 Tsp | Curry Powder |
1 Tsp | Cinnamon |
4 | Whole Cloves |
1 Tsp | Cumin |
7oz. | Yogurt, Sour Cream, Half & Half or a combination |
Salt & Pepper to Taste |
Instructions
First make the sauce. Peel the onion and garlic. Either slice the onion, garlic and ginger very finely, or place in a small blender or food processor, like a Magic Bullet. Melt the butter in a frying pan, cook onion mixture for a few minutes before adding the rest of the sauce ingredients. Simmer softly for about 5 minutes.
Place the chicken legs in a greased oven dish. Evenly distribute the sauce over the chicken, and place in preheated oven for 45 minutes.
Serve the sauce over the chicken. Delicious over rice as well! You can also add garnishes like tomato and chives for extra flavour.
