A different take on Dutch rusk for breakfast.

Dutch Beschuit Breakfast

While beschuit with hagel is a popular breakfast in The Netherlands, here is another way to enjoy them that is also really, really good.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bescuits
  • 1 teaspoon of your favourite sweetener
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Heat the milk, but do not boil.
  2. Place one of the beschuit in a bowl.
  3. Sprinkle with half of the sweetener and cinnamon.
  4. Top with the other beschuit and sprinkle the rest of the sweetener.
  5. Pour the warm milk on the rusks, allowing the beschuit to soften a bit and enjoy!

Try adding fruit for some extra sweetness.
