Ingredients:
- 1.5 pounds ground meat (beef, chicken, pork, or a combination)
- 1 glove garlic
- 1 small onion
- 1 teaspoon dried mustard
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1.5 tablespoons breadcrumbs
Directions:
- Boil a large pot of water.
- Place the meat, onions and garlic in the bowl of a food processor and mis until fine.
- Add the breadcrumbs and spices and mix until you have a firm smooth texture.
- Lay some plastic wrap in a damp surface. Using about ½ cup of meat mixture, form balls and then roll them into a strip and wrap tightly in the plastic wrap.
- Repeat for the rest of the mixture.
- As soon as the water comes to a boil, turn to low. Cook the tightly rolled, plastic wrapped meat for about 10 minutes.
- Unwrap the frikadellen and either deep fry them at 350° until golden or freeze them for later.
Serve with chopped onion, curry ketchup, mayonnaise or fritesaus.
